History of Our Firm

For over 30 years, Ken Frenke has helped people, from all walks of life and all economic levels, manage their money wisely. Many people know Ken from the radio, as a past commentator on radio stations nationwide for SRN News and Moody Broadcasting’s PrimeTime America.  For many years Ken appeared on Crown Financial Ministries’ radio program Money Matters.  Ken is a founding board member of the Christian Financial Professionals Network and wrote an economic column for their quarterly newsletter.

Having personally benefited from the teaching of Larry Burkett, Ken wanted to help people pursue their God-given goals and enjoy the resources with which they’d been blessed. In 1986, he left one of the top financial planning firms in the country to found Kenneth Frenke & Co. to provide financial planning and investment counsel from a biblical perspective. Trends come and go in the financial profession, as the new bywords “wealth management” and “life-planning” attest, but Ken has always felt that those are simply new names for what financial planners have always done – guide people through sometimes uncharted economic waters to live fulfilling lives and build a legacy.

We are committed to delivering the highest quality financial planning and investment advice to our clients.  We serve clients as a team, with Glenn Zimmerman and Ken Downer taking the lead in each relationship. We desire those relationships, built on trust and understanding, to be long-term.  We are also committed to providing our team members with opportunities for professional and personal growth and development.  We recognize that each person contributes to your financial well-being and to our success. Team members reflect the highest integrity and professional competence in our profession.

We’ve chosen to serve as a fee-only company, so as to minimize conflicts of interest and help us better serve our clients in a fiduciary relationship.  As a result, we’ve been privileged to work with people from all walks of life and across the country.  We’ve served them during the best times of life and through the difficult times.

We enjoy what we do. There is so much in this world over which we have no control. It is simply good stewardship to be as independent of those things as we can and to be as dependent as possible on the things over which we do have control.  Planning works!  We’ve seen the value of it in our own lives and those of our clients. We’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how our services would be of benefit to you.
